Dental emergencies rarely happen at a convenient time. Whether it is a throbbing toothache that kept you up all night or a tooth chipped at a weekend game, our first job is to ease the pain and make a clear plan. We will not rush you into more than you need.
What counts as a dental emergency
- A toothache that will not settle down.
- A chipped, cracked, or broken tooth.
- A knocked-out tooth, keep it moist and come in fast.
- A lost filling or crown.
- Swelling, an abscess, or a dental infection.
- A broken denture or painful sore that lingers.
A knocked-out tooth: what to do now
Pick the tooth up by the crown, not the root. If it is dirty, rinse it gently with water. If you can, place it back in the socket and bite softly on a clean cloth. If not, keep it in a cup of milk and call us right away. A tooth has the best chance when it is back in place quickly.
